My responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support EDI interfaces and message flows across existing EDI system landscapes, including troubleshooting and continuous improvements. 
  • Evaluation of Business Requirements and subsequently translation into technical changes and documentation 
  • Create, analyze, and implement EDI message mappings and formats according to applicable standards. 
  • Ensure correct use of EDI standards such as EDIFACT/EANCOM and ANSI X.12, including validation and conformity checks. 
  • Perform detailed analysis of business and technical requirements and translate them into solution designs for EDI messages and integration logic. 
  • Develop and improve technical integration solutions involving:  
  • XML(XSD) / IDoc structures and message formats 
  • Communication methods such as AS2 and SFTP 
  • Participate in event management activities for EDI operations and integration events (e.g., monitoring, defect resolution, incident coordination). 
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., IT/integration, application owners) and external partners to support onboarding, changes, testing, and ongoing operations. 
  • Document EDI processes, mappings, message specs, support procedures, and implementation details. 
  • Use strong competency in analysis, solution design, and implementation to deliver stable and scalable EDI solutions. 

 

The knowledge I own:

  • 2+ years of experience in EDI development or analysis. 
  • Detailed knowledge of EDI standards (e.g., EDIFACT/EANCOM, ANSI X.12) and EDI Message Types (e.g. ORDERS, IFTMIN, DESADV, INVOIC, RECADV and/or 850, 856, 810, 204) 
  • Good understanding of business requirements and capability to transform business needs into updates of technical specifications incl. feasibility analysis 
  • Solid technical understanding of XML-based message structures, integration concepts such as IDoc, and EDI communication methods including AS2 and SFTP. 
  • Strong English communication skills at C1 level (written and spoken), enabling effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work as a team player and independently with strong collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Experience in detailed analysis, solution design, and implementation of EDI messages.
  • Nice to have / optional Qualifications  
    • Experience with middleware platform SAP Cloud Integration / BTP. 
    • Experience with ServiceNow as workflow and ticketing tool 
    • Proven experience with event management and integrating EDI into an existing EDI system landscape. 
    • Hands-on experience onboarding new EDI partners, including testing
