Your responsibilities:

  • Supporting the management of defects throughout their lifecycle — from identification and classification through to resolution and closure​
  • Reviewing for completeness and quality — ensuring expected/actual results, screenshots and steps to reproduce are properly documented​
  • Checking for duplicate defects and ensuring correct severity and priority classification​
  • Supporting daily defect resolution calls by preparing defect lists and tracking action items​
  • Monitoring defect status and following up with assignees to ensure timely resolution​
  • Collecting and consolidating defect metrics for regular status reporting​
  • Ensuring correct linkage between defects and test cases for traceability​
  • Coordinating between the parties involved in defect resolution​
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and understanding how defects feed into sprint backlogs

The knowledge I own:

Must-haves:​

  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail​
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work in international, distributed teams​
  • First experience with defect/issue tracking tools (e.g. ALM, Jira or ServiceNow) is a plus​
  • Understanding of software development and testing lifecycles​
  • Good command of written and spoken English

Nice-to-haves:​

  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification​
  • Initial experience with ITSM processes (Incident Management)​
  • First exposure to ERP systems or integrated application landscapes​
  • ITIL v4 Foundation: Incident Management and basic Problem Management awareness
